Todos hemos oído hablar de la familia von Trapp, inmortalizada en la película “Sonrisas y Lagrimas”, uno de los mas populares musicales que se han hecho. Pero la historia real de la familia von Trapp es bastante distinta de la versión que vimos en pantalla. Georg von Trapp se quedo viudo, quedándose con siete hijos menores. El acaudalado aristócrata austriaco, capitán de la marina jubilado, acabó casándose con la gobernanta Maria Augusta Kutschera, que con determinación y pulso firme lanzó la familia en una carrera musical, y que fue interpretada en la película por Julie Andrews.
We all heard about the von Trapp family, immortalized in the movie The Sound of Music, one of the most popular musical films ever made. However, the story of the real von Trapp family is quite different from the silver screen version. Georg von Trapp became a widow after his wife died, leaving him seven young children. The wealthy Austrian aristocrat and retired sea captain later married the family\'s governess, Maria Augusta Kutschera, who fiercely and single-handedly launched the family into a career in entertainment, whose role in the movie was played by Julie Andrews.
